Nikki Sinclair

Nikki Sinclair or nikksinclair on Instagram is a favourite Sewover50 sewist that inspires great fitting clothes making and fuels the sewing engine of her fellow sewists. Nikki is on the podcast with her biggest sewing fan, Clayton Sinclair. Nikki tells her sewing story and it’s really clear to hear how supportive her husband is of her sewing projects. She gives some great advice to new sewists to enjoy sewing more.

Visible mending journey

Sarah of Pattern Union is a big supporter of the Sewover50 community. Today she’s here to talk about visible mending. Sarah lives in Western Australia. Sarah has been focussing on using her existing resources to focus on visible mending. With her pattern developments, she amassed a lot of fabrics and resources that were no longer useful to her but when she went to take them to the local thrift store, the response from the store was a wake up call to her regarding textile waste. Angie’s 2022 plans

Angie gives us the inside scoop about being on Kirsty's Handmade Christmas in 2021. She also discusses how she wants to make dolls that look like their owners features and enthicity. Uthando project

Uthando Project is a small registered Australian Charity based in Perth, Western Australia.  Since 2004 Uthando Project has built and maintained partnerships with 5 not for profit organisations in KwaZulu Natal, a province of South Africa.  These 5 organisations work with vulnerable children and communities and all promote the importance of play in early childhood development, education, social and emotional wellbeing.  Uthando Project supports the organisations by donating hand made dolls, puppets, balls and African animals for use in their work and for distribution to the children they work with.
